Supergiant’s godlike roguelike, Hades, has Zagreus, son of the titular god, trying to fight his way out of the Underworld. Luckily, Zagreus has some help from the primordial goddess of the night, Nyx, and her Mirror of Night.
The Mirror conveys various powers onto Zagreus, such as increasing the amount of dashes Zagreus can perform, or the number of Death Defiances he can use. These are written in Red Text.
After a certain amount of progression, (according to Inverse.com, this involves talking to Nyx after about a dozen runs), you unlock powers written in Green Text. These are a little more advanced, though not necessarily better, so you will need to mix and match the different powers to fit your playstyle.
There is also a Minor Prophecy (the game’s version of achievements), ‘Dark Reflections’, that requires you to use all of the Powers (both Red and Green) at least once in a run.
How to change to Green Powers:
- Go to Zagreus’s Room
- Activate the Mirror of the Night
- Notice the tiny square with two triangles on the left-hand side, one next to each power
- Press said tiny square next to the power you want to switch
- Congrats, you have successfully changed one of the Mirror of Night Powers from Red to Green
- Press the tiny square again to change back to the Red Powers
